  U4GM FH6 Joy of Drifting Completion Tips (8 อ่าน)

If you are working through the Horizon Decades playlist, this is one of those quick jobs that feels easier once you stop overthinking it. You only need a 1980s car, a clean drift, and a fast shot in Photo Mode. It is also a nice excuse to spend a few minutes earning Forza Horizon 6 Credits while ticking off an event that does not ask much from you.

What the challenge actually asks for

The goal is simple on paper: take a photo of a 1980s vehicle while it is drifting. There is no need to hit a landmark, no need to score a huge combo, and no need to do anything flashy. That is why so many players finish it almost by accident. If you already have a car from the right decade in your garage, you are basically halfway there. The real trick is just lining up the drift and opening the camera at the right moment.

People often expect this kind of challenge to be awkward, but it usually is not. You do not need a perfect angle or a long slide. You only need the game to recognise that the car was sideways when the photo was taken. That means even a short drift can count, which is handy if you are using a heavier classic car that does not want to hang around in a slide for long.

Picking a car that makes life easier

The safest choice for most players is the 1982 DeLorean. A lot of people already have it from other Horizon Decades tasks, so there is no extra shopping involved. If you do need to buy it, it is still a pretty affordable option compared with plenty of other classic models. It is not built for wild drift runs, but for this challenge, it does not need to be. It just needs to move, break traction, and keep enough control for you to snap the picture.

That said, any eligible 1980s car will do. If you have a favourite from that era, use it. A car you know well is usually better than a "better" car you barely drive. You will feel the steering, the braking point, and the weight transfer more naturally. That matters more than raw speed here. A familiar coupe, hatchback, or sports car from the decade can all work if you can get it to kick out at the rear.

Where and how to drift without wasting time

You can complete the challenge almost anywhere, which is part of why it is so quick. Wide city roads are useful because they give you room to swing the car out without clipping walls or poles. Open highways are even simpler if traffic is not getting in your way. Some players like quieter rural roads because there is less to think about. Honestly, pick whichever place feels least annoying to drive in.

Getting the drift started is the part people worry about, but it is not hard. Build a little speed, turn into a corner, then tap the brake as you steer. If the rear starts stepping out and you hear the tyres squeal, you are there. You do not need to be sliding forever. A brief, clear drift is enough. The game only wants proof that the car was drifting when the photo was taken, so once the slide starts, do not wait around.

Taking the photo at the right moment

This is where most failed attempts happen. Players drift first, then hesitate, and by the time Photo Mode opens, the car is already straight again. Try to open the camera as soon as the slide begins. On a controller, that means using the D-pad shortcut. On keyboard, it is the photo key. As soon as the screen pauses, you can adjust the frame, but the important part is that the drift has already started before the camera opens.

Do not worry about making the shot look impressive. You are not being judged on composition, lighting, or angle. A messy roadside photo still counts if the car is sideways. A lot of players waste time hunting for a "good" picture when the challenge only wants a valid one. Keep it simple. Drift, pause, shoot, move on. If the challenge does not pop right away, try again with a little more speed or a slightly sharper turn.

Final Thoughts

The nice thing about this challenge is that it respects your time. You do not need a tuned build, a special route, or a perfect run. Just take a 1980s car, find enough space to break traction, and get into Photo Mode while the drift is still happening. Once you have done it once, it becomes one of those tasks you barely think about the next time it shows up. And if you are trying to stretch your progress a bit further, it is a small but easy way to buy FH6 Credits and keep moving through the playlist without turning the whole session into work.
